Maths Week Ireland

Serving: Ireland
Mathematics is the foundation underpinning all of STEM and in order to increase uptake among the public, attitudes towards maths have to change. Maths Week has grown to attract participation from as many as 300,000 people annually across the island of Ireland. It has evolved into a partnership of more than 50 organisations including universities, institutes of technology, teacher training colleges, further education, professional bodies, museums, libraries and visitor centres and other groups, all united with the shared vision of making maths accessible to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Our maxim is simple, yet inclusive: "Maths for All."

The mission of Bedtime Math is to help kids love numbers so they can handle the math in real life. Bedtime Math makes math part of the family routine. Every day, you can serve up a quick bite of wacky math just for fun. It’s nothing like school. Parents can sign up by email, on our website, and on our free app. Whether it’s flamingos, ninjas or pillow forts, kids can see the math in their favorite topics. No logins. No drilling. No scores. It takes only 5 minutes a day, and kids clamor for it.

National Association of Math Circles

Serving: US and international
Although the National Association of Math Circles is a project of MSRI, separately listed in this archive, it is beyond the scope of this archive to list each individual active math circle. (You can access a directory of individual circles via the more information link.) Rather, this entry serves as a placeholder for the very important collection of math circles which bring the joy of mathematical discovery to thousands of people. In the words of NAMC, "Math Circles … bring … students together with mathematically sophisticated leaders in an informal setting … to work on interesting problems or topics in mathematics."

Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival

Serving: primarily throughout United States, some international
Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival supports locally organized events that inspire K–12 students to think critically and to explore the richness and beauty of mathematics through collaborative, creative problem-solving. JRMF's Festivals engage many types of students, including those who don’t enjoy competition or working under time pressure. A Festival is also a community event, bringing together institutions and organizations as their constituents celebrate mathematics.
