Although the National Association of Math Circles is a project of MSRI, separately listed in this archive, it is beyond the scope of this archive to list each individual active math circle. (You can access a directory of individual circles via the more information link.) Rather, this entry serves as a placeholder for the very important collection of math circles which bring the joy of mathematical discovery to thousands of people. In the words of NAMC, “Math Circles … bring … students together with mathematically sophisticated leaders in an informal setting … to work on interesting problems or topics in mathematics.”
